number of charming TV shows in her career, from DENNIS PEPPER to EASTWICK and UGLY BETTY, but now she will turn to a much more serious genre: according to "The Hollywood Reporter" she has joined new TNT crime drama KING AND MAXWELL. Coming from the NCIS: LOS ANGELES creator, the hourlong drama revolves around crime novelist David Baldacci's characters Sean King and Michelle Maxwell and is based on his best-selling novels. Sean and Michelle are ex-secret service agents who have unique skill sets that give them an upper hand on suspects and law enforcement. Romijn will play Michelle, a former secret service agent who takes on politically sensitive cases in Washington, D.C. and is described as a formidable investigator with deep Beltway connections who is determined to prove herself after being forced to resign from the secret service.
BRENDAN FRASER'S LEGENDS
Another film star to cross over to the small screen is Brendan Fraser who will also visit TNT in a new drama LEGENDS. Similarly to Romijn's project, this one will also be a detective/agent one. Coming from HOMELAND producers, the show follows a deep-cover operative named Martin Odum, who has an uncanny ability to transform himself into a different person for each job. But his own identity comes into question when a mysterious stranger suggests that Martin isn’t who he thinks he is. The project is also based on a novel, this time it is a spy novel from the famous author Robert Littell. As you know, beside starring in the most popular epic adventure in film history - THE MUMMY saga, Fraser has also shown stunning and deeply moving dramatic talent in Oscar winning film CRASH and in THE QUIET AMERICAN and GODS AND MONSTERS.
THE MONU- MENTS MEN
Oh, my, now this is quite a cast. Sometime last year HOLLYWOOD SPY mentioned that George Clooney has bought the movie adaptation rights for Robert M Edsel's book "The Monuments Men: Allied Heroes, Nazi Thieves and the Greatest Treasure Hunt in History", and that he will make THE MONUMENTS MEN period set movie out of it, but now it seems he's gathering quite a cast for it. "Deadline" reports today that Cate Blanchett, Daniel Craig, Jean Dujardin, Bill Murray and John Goodman will star in this story which follows a group of art historians and curators who helped to recover thousands of stolen artworks from the Nazis, during the final days of their reign. The story will apparently focus on the 11 months period between D-Day and V-E Day. Clooney will direct the film himself.
