Interesting news coming from the preproduction of new CINDERELLA film. They're having a hard time finding a girl for the title role, but they do already have Cate Blanchett who will play Lady Tremaine the evil stepmother who is envious and jealous on Cinderella's beauty and they have Kenneth Branagh as the director. After they've opted not to hire one of the HARRY PLOPPER talentless brats, they are going over to London to audition three new ladies: Lily James from DOWNTON ABBEY, Bella Heathcotte whom you've watched in DARK SHADOWS and Margot Robbie (don't know who she is, but physically she fits the role best). Saoirse Ronan, Alicia Vikander and Gabriella Wilde who were mentioned before for the role are out of the game now. But here's the really good piece of info coming from "Deadline": beside searching for Cindy, the studio is also

 looking to find their Prince and the top contender for the role so far is delightful Richard Madden, King of the North in GAME OF THRONES! Well, he's used to wearing crowns and they fit him lovely!

  WONDERLAND FINDS ITS RED QUEEN & WHITE RABBIT

In television news this Monday - the casting continues for ONCE UPON A TIME spin-off series ONCE UPON A TIME IN WONDERLAND which will be shot as a short series filling the space between two seasons

 of the original ABC show and will follow Alice (Sophie Lowe) who has a generous heart but carries the scars of a long hard life. She is joined by Cyrus (Peter Gadiot), Alice’s love interest, and the Knave of Hearts (Michael Socha), a sardonic adventurer. Now, Emma Rigby from RIPPER STREET has been cast as the Red Queen aka Iracebeth, who has a short temper and is merciless against her enemies and those who have betrayed her. On the other hand Paul Reubens (better known as Pee Wee Herman) will give his voice to the CG White Rabbit. Barbara Hershey might appear as Queen of Hearts and Sebastian Stan as the Mad Hatter!
 

  DAN STEVENS IN SWALLOWS AND AMAZONS

Speaking of DOWNTON ABBEY stars, probably the biggest one - Dan Stevens, has a new acting gig! According to "Deadline" he will star in British family

 movie SWALLOWS AND AMAZONS taking the key role of James Turner, aka Captain Flint! Part of the book series by Arthur Ransome, the story of the film will be set in England’s Lake District in the summer of 1929, centring on the Walker kids and the Blackett kids whose respective sailboats are dubbed Swallow and Amazon. When the adventurous and imaginative children meet, they join forces against their common enemy – the Blacketts’ uncle James whom they call Captain Flint. After leaving DOWNTON ABBEY Dan Stevens is currently shooting A WALK AMONG THE TOMBSTONES with Liam Neeson!

  NOW YOU SEE ME 

A film with a star studded cast and a very exciting and unique story - NOW YOU SEE ME - is opening up in theatres May 31st! Starring Michael Caine, Morgan Freeman, Isla Fisher, Mark Ruffalo, Woody Harrelson, Dave Franco and Jesse Eisenberg the $70 million modern heist film is directed by Louis Leterrier the helmer of CLASH OF THE TITANS and THE INCREDIBLE HULK! The story of the movie revolves around a group of illusionists known as The Four Horsemen, who pull off daring bank heists against corrupt business leaders during their performances and then shower their audiences with the profits. Now, a team of FBI agents is out to stop their show, which is growing increasingly popular. Jesse Eisenberg plays the leader of the

group, while Morgan Freeman plays an ex-magician who has begun to exploit and reveal certain illusions, making him an enemy of the magician community. Mark Ruffalo leads the FBI agents!

A number of famous names were in the run for some of the roles: from Jake Gyllenhaal whose role was taken by Ruffalo, to Colin Firth, Jim Carrey, Hugh Grant Philip Seymour Hoffman who were later on replaced by younger actors. Both Olivia Wilde and Amanda Seyfried were offered the role which later on went to Isla Fisher!

JOAQUIN PHOENIX, OLIVIA WILDE, AMY ADAMS IN "HER"! ZOE SALDANA IS GAMORA IN "GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY"? "BEFORE MIDNIGHT" TRAILER WITH ETHAN HAWKE & JULIE DELPY! "THE AGE OF MIRACLES" MOVIE ADAPTATION

I mentioned yesterday a couple of new roles that expect Amy Adams in the future, but forgot to mention charming comedy HER in which she will star next to Joaquin Phoenix, Olivia Wilde

and Samantha Morton. It will be a story about a lonely writer who develops an unlikely relationship with his newly purchased operating system that's designed to meet his every need.

  THE AGE OF MIRACLES 

And it seems that Karen Thompson Walker's bestseller THE AGE OF MIRACLES will get a movie version. To be directed by Catherine Hardwicke ( she made such shallow and empty films out of RED RIDING HOOD and TWILIGHT) the film will be aet amidst an advancing catastrophe after the Earth's rotation mysteriously slows, and will bring a suspenseful and romantic snapshot of one young girl's adolescence, a poignant family drama, and a heartrending glimpse into the everyday tragedies and triumphs that define what it is to be human in a world that might just be ending.

  ZOE SALDANA IN GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY

Rumours around the casting process in the upcoming super hero flick GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY are still circling around the net: the latest one, coming from Heat Vision Blog, says that STAR TREK's Zoe Saldana is wanted for the role of Gamora! Marvel's  green-skinned assassin is the last of a race that was wiped out by the Baldoon and she is also the adopted daughter of the main villain Thanos! She possesses super-human strength, agility, and healing abilities. The already confirmed cast members include Chris Pratt who takes the lead role of Star-lord, the leader of the Guardians, and Dave Bautista who will play Drax the Destroyer! The film will also have a talking raccoon :) It seems they are toning down the whole film since after all the famous names which were mentioned for some of the roles, they've been choosing less attractive ones so far.

  BEFORE MIDNIGHT TRAILER

Since I know my ladies loved the previous films, here's the trailer and poster for BEFORE MIDNIGHT, the continuation of BEFORE SUNRISE and BEFORE SUNSET. Julie Delpy and Ethan Hawke return to their roles almost twenty years after the first film and this time we meet their characters, Jesse and Celine nine years after BEFORE SUNSET sequel, and they are now in Greece. Almost two decades have passed since their first meeting on that famous train bound for Vienna.The movie is directed by Richard Linklater mostly known for his FAST FOOD NATION movie. I find both the actors and the films terribly boring and lifeless, but I know some of you like them! It escapes me how those films ever became romantic classics with such a lack of any kind of emotions on the faces of the two of them.

Everybody's favourite pumpkin Amy Adams has got herself a new gig: Deadline reports that she will join Christoph Waltz in BIG EYES instead of Ryan Reynolds and Reese Witherspoon. Tim Burton directed movie will focus on the true story of artist Margaret Keane (Amy Adams) and her husband Walter (Christoph Waltz), whose paintings of large-eyed children became a cultural sensation in the 1950s and 1960s. Margaret was the true artist, but the marketing wizard Walter became a regular on the talk-show circuit, where he also took credit for the paintings as well. When they split up, a nasty court battle ensued which culminated in a judge ordering both of them to paint right there in the courthouse. While he refused to do so because of a pain in his arm, she quickly crafted another one of her trademark paintings. You already know that you will watch Amy Adams later this year in the long awaited MAN OF STEEL in which she plays Lois Lane next to Henry Cavill's Superman and Clark Kent. The four times Oscar nominee will also star in LULLABY about a man who's estranged from his family and who receives word that his father has chosen to take himself off life support within 48 hours. That one will also have Jessica Brown Findlay, Garrett Hedlund, Terrence Howard, Richard Jenkins and Jennifer Hudson in the cast!

  JIM STURGESS JOINS KATE BECKINSALE IN 'ELIZA GRAVES'

It seems that our lovely Kate Beckinsale is getting delightful Jim Sturgess for a partner in ELIZA GRAVES! Based on Edgar Allan Poe's short story "The System of Doctor Tarr and Professor Fethe", the movie will follow a recent Harvard Medical School graduate (Jim Sturgess) who lands a job as an intern at a mental institute. He becomes obsessed with the title character (Kate Beckinsale), although he doesn't know that the hospital has been overrun by the patients, who are now posing as doctors. Pffft, with my hospital experiences I thought that was the usual case!
 

  THE ENGLISH TEACHER TRAILER WITH JULIANNE MOORE

Here's a fun trailer for new comedy drama THE ENGLISH TEACHER which gathers quite a stellar cast including Julianne Moore in the lead role alongside Nathan Lane, Greg Kinnear, gorgeous Lily Collins and Michael Angarano.  Linda Sinclair (Julianne Moore) is

a 40-year-old unmarried high school English teacher.   LABY- RINTH MINI SERIES 

Now,  this mini series premiered last weekend over at British Channel 4 and the fact that your HOLLYWOOD SPY hasn't heard about it before speaks tones of the poor marketing of the project. Hopefully it will air around the world too? LABYRINTH has quite a nice cast including MERLIN's Katie McGrath, CAPTAIN AMERICA'S and ONCE UPON TIME's Sebastian Stan, DOWNTON ABBEY's Jessica Brown Findlay, Tom Felton and John Hurt! The adaptation of Kate Mosses famous adventure story follows two intelligent headstrong heroines, 17-year-old Alaïs Pelletier (Jessica Brown Findlay) from 13th century Carcassonne and modern-day PhD graduate Dr. Alice Tanner (Vanessa Kirby) who experience an adventure that intertwines their lives. Separated by time, but united in   a common destiny, Alice inherits a house in the South of France from an unknown aunt and is haunted by dreams of a woman from the past. Compelled to find out more, Alice stumbles upon an archaeological find that will bear witness to a genocide committed 800 years ago on European soil, which will lead her to the secrets of the Holy Grail.

  CONQUISTADORS EPIC SERIES

Only a few days ago I announced that Fox is venturing into making mini series, and now after MAYFLOWER, FX will also make a series about the fall of Incas! Deadline reports that they will adapt Kim MacQuarrie's novel LAST DAYS OF THE INCAS. Titled CONQUI- STADORS, the event series will tell the story of Francisco Pizarro and Diego de Almagro, two Spanish Conquistadors who above all odds conquered the Incan empire of 10 million with just 168 men, and Manco Inca and Cura Occlo, two teenage Incan royal lovers, who led one of the greatest rebellions in history.
 

  PERCY JACKSON SEA OF MONSTERS TRAILER 

Most people have forgotten that this film is even coming out, so it's nice from the studio to remind us with a trailer: PERCY JACKSON: SEA OF MONSTERS is a sequel ready to open up in cinemas this August starring Logan Lerman, Sean Bean, Stanley Tucci, and even Nathan Fillion! After all the adventures from the first film in which Percy discovered he is a son of the God of the Sea, Poseidon, he is ready for some new action: In order to restore their dying safe haven, the son of Poseidon and his friends head into the Sea of Monsters to find the mythical Golden Fleece! "THE MORTAL INSTRUMENTS CITY OF BONES" NEW CHARACTER POSTERS WITH LILY COLLINS! FIRST TRAILER FOR NEW "THE SAINT" TV SHOW WITH ADAM RAYNER, THOMAS KRETSCHMANN, ROGER MOORE!

  NEW THE SAINT TV SHOW 

 The first trailer has been released around the web for upcoming new action spy series THE SAINT which will be offered to networks at the international sale next week. The small screen adaptation of Leslie Charteris' famous spy book from the 70s stars exquisitely seductive Adam Rayner (Huston, methinks we have a new star to obsess about and stalk) as legendary spy Simon Templar with a whole bunch of famous names in the cast too: famous James Bond Roger Moore, German star Thomas Kretschmann and Eliza Dushku. The series is directed by Simon West.  You've seen British hunk Adam Rayner before in TV shows HAWTHORNE, MISTRESSES and MIRANDA. It is interesting that the plans to make a TV remake of THE SAINT have been present since 2009 and both Dougray Scott and James Purefoy were seen in the lead roles in previous two attempts.

  MERYL STREEP IN TWO NEW FILMS 

Now, here's an interesting cast: Meryl Streep will again work with Tommy Lee Jones after HOPE SPRINGS and they will also be joined by James Spader, John Lithgow and Tim Blake Nelson in new period set movie THE HOMESMAN! Directed and cowritten by Tommy Lee himself, the historical drama will, according to "The Hollywood Reporter", have a story set in 1855 Nebraska,and will revolve around a frontier woman and a claim jumper who ferry a wagonload of women, driven insane by the harsh world of the frontier, eastward to Iowa and back to the civilized world. Meryl Streep is also set to take the lead role in Rob Marshall's INTO THE WOODS in which she will play the Witch which conspires to teach important lessons to various characters of popular children's stories including Little Red Riding Hood, Cinderella, Jack and the Beanstalk and Rapunzel.

  VANESSA LACHEY IN 'DADS' SITCOM 

  In television news today, Deadline writes that breathtaking Vanessa Lachey has joined Fox’s sitcom DADS which comes from Seth MacFarlane, and centres on two successful guys in their 30s, Eli (Seth Green) and Warner (Tommy Dewey), who have their lives turned upside down when their nightmare dads (Peter Riegert, Martin Mull) unexpectedly move in with them. Lachey will play Camilla, Warner’s wife, the mother of his kids. 

  NEW 'DA VINCI'S DEMONS' EXCITING EPIC TRAILER 

The only trailer I have for you in the slow Easter week is the new one for upcoming new historical adventure series DA VINCI'S DEMONS which hits small screens at Starz April12th!
